It was a highly anticipated start to the 2017 season, and round 1 at Newcastle lived up to expectation!
The numbers were up, and with more expected over the coming rounds, it’s going to be a big year of racing on some of our favourite tracks.
New liveries were absolutely stunning.
Special mention to the Preston Hire Super Team. Other notable sticker kits were WAR’s LOCO livery, Wild Kart’s Ferrari scheme, RPG has a slick new one, along with Trackside Karts19 & 5, Top Step (the old CDT), and Sydney Kart Warehouse #54.
Big effort from two-driver teams.
With 9 hours of racing over two days, one very hot and the second with intermittent rain all day, there we a couple of teams that did an outstanding job managing it all with only two drivers - well done Hellrazor, Wild Kart, Aubin Bros, Norwest, WAR, SKW, and Uni Filter.
The return of some solid competition.
WAR, Trackside, Jandal and Top Step Racing (formerly CDT) are all highly competitive teams returning. All of them stood out for the right reasons at some point over the two days! Can they make a claim to a race win or a championship? Stay tuned.
