KA Technical Bulletins: IAME KA100 & Vortex DVS

  28 December 2016

Karting Australia placed a couple fo technical bulletins on its website just prior to Christmas. One was regarding updated homologation/technical specification for the IAME KA100, the other a Technical Rule Interpretation for the Junior Vortex DVS motor.

Both came in with immediate effect as of December 23.

IAME KA100

Maximum ignition timing has been reduced to 3.2mm and the timing marks on the rotor and the stator must fully align. Previously the maximum was 4.2mm. This new setting was advised by IAME to "reduce heat, reduce stress on the engine and prolong engine life."

  • The full PDF version can be downloaded HERE.

Vortex DVS Junior

Technical Rule Interpretation for the DVS Junior engine - there can be no modification to the exhaust system. This includes enlarging the stock exhaust temperature sensor fitting (eg, to fit a larger diameter Lambda sensor).

  • A PDF of this TRI is HERE (references to Lambder should actually read Lambda...)
