Lee, Alex, Kurt and Warrick posted quick times and it was all up to Greg to put in a great lap but on Greg's flying lap he had an issue and slowed his kart down and pulled out of his hot lap leaving Kurt Woodward as the quickest with a time of 51.625 and Kurt won the $200.

The guys new that the track was a little slower from the mornings qualifying run but still pushed hard on their flying laps. Luke Wrigley went out last being the quickest. Now that the shootout was run and won it was time to get the 2016 Gold Cup underway.
Saturday's weather was a mixture of cloud, misty rain and the odd bit of sun with a chilly breeze. These where testing conditions for drivers and mechanics not knowing what mother nature was going to dish out. The rain did stay away and everyone got through the day running their 3 heats of 8 Laps.
Sunday's weather was great once we got past the chill factor of zero degrees. Racing started just after 8am with the drivers racing hard to set themselves up for a great final. The quality racing was great across the weekend.
