Today's question is a general one regarding track safety.
Are you happy with current track safety standards?
Karting Australia has specific circuit construction and safety standards. A 36-page document lists all manner of safety requirements, specifications, dimensions etc. Clubs have to get their circuit inspected, approved and licensed on an annual basis.
Is all of this unneccessary over-the-top 'Nanny State' thinking, or do these systems actually have merit?

Think of this as the ultimate test - you're reaching the braking point at the end of the straight at your local circuit. You hit the brake pedal. The pedal bolt snaps (rendering any secondary cable useless). You now have no way of slowing the kart. What are you going to hit? How fast will you be going when you hit it?
Now, go cast your vote.
The intention of these polls is to cover all sorts of random questions and issues that could be of relevance to any competition karter - from club level amateur to national level pro racer.
This is your opportunity to have your say. Visit again tomorrow for the next question.
