press release 17 October 2015

Thirteen of Australia’s best Rotax drivers are currently preparing for their journey to the International Karting Circuit of Algarve in Portugal to represent Australia at the 2015 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals.

Australian driver Ryan Kennedy’s preparation is already off to a flying start, thanks to Flight Centre Business Travel, by travelling to the prestigious event absolutely free!

The Queenslander, whose name was randomly drawn out of a hat at the official Team Australia presentation in Ipswich two weeks ago, was the lucky recipient of a free return airfare provided by Flight Centre Business Travel.

“It’s great that such a helpful prize was offered and I couldn’t believe that it was my name that was called out,” said Kennedy. “It’s great to see that Flight Centre Business Travel are supporting Team Australia.”

Flight Centre Business Travel’s Jess Golding, former Australian karting champion and Rotax Pro Tour competitor, has been instrumental in building the relationship with both Karting Australia and International Karting Distributors.

“At Flight Centre Business Travel we can genuinely help people save time and money,” says Golding. “The karting community is full of small business owners, operators, families and individuals who spend a lot of time and money on their chosen sport - not only on entry fees and their equipment - but also their travel to events both domestically and internationally, all year round.”

Kennedy, who finished 3rd in the DD2 series points this year, will now line up for his second Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals appearance, after he debuted in the Senior Max category at last year’s event in Spain.

“Having the experience of last year gives me a bit more confidence heading over to Portugal this year,” added Kennedy. “I have been watching videos on YouTube to try and learn the track and working on my fitness as part of my preparation.”

The event begins on Sunday 8 November, with on-track action commencing on Tuesday 10 November. To follow Team Australia in Portugal tune into Rotax’s live TV broadcast and live timing service available at www.rotax-kart.com
