CRG's 2 x Jasons To Race Rotax World Final

  6 October 2015

Team CRG Australia will have two representatives at next month's Rotax Max Grand Finals after Jason Pringle (DD2) and Jason Hryniuk (DD2 Masters) qualified for the World Championships through their efforts in this year's Rotax Pro Tour.

Pringle was crowned the Australian Rotax DD2 Challenge Champion once again at the final round at Ipswich Kartway.

A former World number two, Pringle annexed his place on the team with a seventh placed finish in the DD2 final on the track where he recently won the KZ2 Australian Championship round.

Also in DD2, Matthew Erdmann had a terrific run in the final. He brought his kart through from 21st on the grid to finish a solid 11th. Shannon McLaine started 22nd and came home 16th.

Hryniuk scythed his way through the field to finish fifth. He was spun early in the DD2 Masters final and put on a master class from the rear of the field to push forward to fifth. The effort proved critical for the CRG veteran who took the final position in the Over-32 World Final competition in Portugal.

In Rotax Heavy, Alex Waters put together a great weekend to come home sixth in the final. Doing double duty, Waters was also in the capacity Rotax Light field. He brought his CRG home in 13th after starting the final 15th.

In the Mini Max category, Shamick Racing's James Wharton recorded a podium finish, whilst Kai Allen continued to show promise, charging from the back of the grid to finish in an outstanding seventh position.

"It was a tough weekend for the entire team," said Team CRG Team Manager, Darren King. "The conditions were extremely hot out on track - it was around 34 degrees C on both days, which added another element to it.

"Obviously we're stoked for the two Jasons making it to the World Finals team. Jason Pringle has become almost a permanent fixture at the Rotax World Finals, while Jason Hryniuk in the past has proven himself on the world stage.

"Both should do extremely well in their respective classes.

"Alex Waters put in a solid performance over the weekend doing both classes - he had a great run. Matt Erdmann and Shannon McLaine did well to pass so many karts in DD2 - the category is extremely close and it isn't easy to pass karts, so a good effort to be approaching the top 10.

"It was a great weekend for our Mini Max boys too with James Wharton having really come on since the start of the season and Kai Allen working his way forward from the back of the grid."

The next major event for Team CRG Australia will be the Race of Stars on the Gold Coast on Friday October 16 and Saturday October 17 when five time World Champion, Davide Fore makes his return to the team - looking to record two successive KZ2 wins in the event.
