A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE FOR MARANELLO KART AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF LE MANS

Maranello Kart's drivers have managed to get the spotlight in the qualifying stages of the International Super Cup KZ2 in Le Mans, but could not earn access to the Final due to a series of inconveniences that mainly go down to the changing weather conditions and rain that affected the racing weekend.

On the new karting circuit of Le Mans, Enrico Bernardotto, Tommaso Mosca and Lorenzo Giannoni have been competing in KZ2 alongside the Spanish Gerard Cebrian Ariz, Arnau Cervera Guardeno and Arturo Cobos Manzanal, with the objective of showcasing their competitiveness and the quality of Maranello Kart's chassis.

The continuous changes of weather that mixed rain and sun for the whole weekend, turned out to be a challenge to find the right setup. Despite this difficulty, Maranello Kart's drives managed to shine in several occasions.

In free practice, Giannoni set the quickest time in one session, followed by the fourth and fifth in other two, while Mosca and Bernardotto have been often in the top-ten.

Mosca's positive momentum continued in qualifying when he ended fifth of his group, that of Bernardotto made him close in seventh, while Giannoni had a step back and could not go beyond a P17 due to a setup problem.

Heats have been a prize lot for everybody, mainly due to the changing weather and rain that hit the most crucial moments of the races. The drivers of Maranello Kart managed to qualify for the two Prefinals of KZ2, despite a slowing down caused by some unavoidable contacts. The Spanish driver Gerard Cebrian Ariz, Arnau Cervera Guardeno and Arturo Cobos Manzanal, were the only exceptions as he did not manage to get past the qualifying heat stages.

In the first Prefinal, Mosca ended 18th but was later on relegated to the 23rd place due to a 10 seconds time penalty for dropping the nose cone following a contact. In the second Prefinal, Giannoni had to settle for P24 in his first experience in KZ2 on wet tarmac, while Bernardotto had to retire early into the race. Access to the Final was limited to the top 17 places of both Prefinals, which was a real shame as the drivers in force at Maranello Kart did not have a concrete chance to take part in the Final, that was eventually run on dry tarmac and sunny weather.

I would like to thank Stefano Griggio with Tiziano Rizzi, and Alessandro Levratti with Renato Andreoli, for the great job done during the whole season."
