Stars Shine at JSS Grand Final

press release 9 August 2015

The 2015 Cool Drive Junior Super Series has now been run and won. In what has been a complete success the series came to an end last Saturday Night 1st August under the blazing lights of the Gosford Showground.

Going into the event up to 6 drivers were in contention to take out the inaugural Super Series Champions Trophy but before anyone could have that honour they all had to race as hard as they could across their 2 heats to make it into the all-important top 12 for the dash races.

After the dashes were run it was the two Series favourites right from round 1 Kaidon Brown and Jake Donaldson on the front row of the feature race.

Kaidon lead from green flag to checkers to win the race and the win allowed him to take victory for the final round of the Series securing him 2nd place in the Championship.

Andrew Sayre who was in 3rd place heading into the Championship decider had some terrible luck in heat one when lead from a competitors kart came off and broke the Aussie Forklift Repairs 99 kart accelerator cable which cost him any chance of challenging for the overall Title. But Andrew put on the drive of the meeting coming from the B Main to finish 4th in the A Main and along the way picking up the Quick Time Award.

Andrew’s bad luck saw Kyle Mock & Zak Blanch who we're tied in 5th place heading into the Grand Finale have a chance at advancing their positions and both drivers put in great drives in the A Main to finish 3rd and 6th respectively and this secure 3rd for Kyle & 4th for Zak in overall Championship.

After a slow start to the day points leader Jake Donaldson was able to refocus, he then qualified for the all important A-Dash and would go on to finish 2nd  in the A Main behind round Winner Kaidon Brown. With this result Jake would secure the overall JSS Championship & become the 1st ever Cool Drive Junior Super Series Champion.
