Double Duty For CRG This Weekend

press release 24 July 2015

The weekend of 26 July will be characterized by a double international commitment for the CRG works team. The squad will in fact get on track in Sweden at Kristianstad for the final round of the European CIK-FIA KF and KF Junior, and in Germany at Wackersdorf for the penultimate round of the Rotax Euro Challenge.

THE EUROPEAN CIK-FIA CHAMPIONSHIP IN KRISTIANSTAD

CRG headed to Sweden with Felice Tiene, third in the KF standings at 31 points and well motivated to improve his European championship classification. Unfortunately, the Italian driver missed the result in the most recent race held in England at PFI when he was involved in an incident in the Final while closing in on the top positions after some good placings in qualifying heats. Tiene scored a third place in the first round held in Portugal at Portimao that earned him 16 points, some further 9 points came from the second place in the Portuguese heats and 6 thanks to the fifth place in the heats in England. Tiene will be targeting the title of vice-champion, as Hanley is currently uncatchable at 65 points.

Alongside Tiene, CRG will field the Belgian driver Benjamin Lessennes and the British Archie Tillett, both hunting for a prestigious result to end the European KF Championship on a high.

THE ROTAX EURO CHALLENGE IN WACKERSDORF

The circuit of Wackersdorf, Germany, will stage the third round of the Rotax Euro Challenge, that follows the first two races held in France at Salbris and in Italy at Castelletto di Branduzzo. CRG works driver Paolo De Conto, after the victory in Castelletto, is 6 points short of the classification leader of DD2 and therefore the round of Wackersdorf is going to be crucial for the Italian squad ahead of the final round scheduled for next 6 September in Genk. CRG squad for DD2 will also comprise the German Luka Kamali, his fellow country-man Niklas Granz and the Russian Igor Mukhin who is currently leading DD2 Master.

The young and quick British driver of CRG Alex Quinn, fifth of the Rotax classification and on the podium at PFI's round of the European CIK-FIA KF Junior Championship, will be quite awaited in Germany, as the German Phil Doerr, the Israeli Ido Cohen, the Spaniard Kilian Meyer, the other German Tim Mika Metz and the Swede David Rehme.
