Senior National Feature and Phil Goss Memorial

by Stuart Lee 17 July 2015

The Junior drivers at the Launceston Kart Club  are gearing up for their racing at the annual Senior National Feature meeting this weekend.

As part of the build-up 17 time national and 51 time state title winner David Sera of Victoria spent two days with our junior drivers giving them and their parents some tuition on driving techniques as well as kart setup. Sera spends on average 3-4 days a week flying around Australia providing Driver Training to the next generation of V8 supercars driver or the next Formula 1 driver like Daniel Ricciardo.

This weekend’s meeting is sponsored by local Launceston business Tasmanian Auto Recyclers and will see the Senior National drivers via for the honours of the best “J” drivers in the state.

Hobart's Gemma Wyllie will be going for a hat trick of wins in Senior National Light after taking victory in 2013 and 2014. Local Launceston driver Stephen Wrigley will be going for back to back victories in Senior National Heavy after claiming the win last year.

On same the race programme will be the Phil Goss Memorial. This race is open to all drivers on the other side of 40 and is a tribute to a past member and competitor of the Launceston Kart Club who died in 2009.

Launceston’s Johnathan Males will be keen to take victory in this race after becoming eligible to compete.

Practise Saturday with racing starting at 9am on Sunday, Full canteen facilities will be provided for spectators.
