a few updates & information from the world of karting...

  • If you've got half an inkling to race at the 2015 CIK-FIA Asia Pacific Championships (Macau, December 10 to 13), it might be a good idea to do it this year. The organisers are offering a US$3000 (AUS$4050) cash subsidy for each KZ and KF driver. The deal includes two twin rooms for 5 nights at the Pousada Marina Hotel for each KZ/KF driver, local (Macau) freight forwarding and customs clearance and local transport (shuttle bus) to and from the Hotel/Karting circuit.

The club appologised via social media for the short notice, however "we believe that this would provide a significant opportunity to form a strong relationship with the Dubbo Kart Club and would assist in raising attendance numbers and in turn contribute to the overall success of our meets." The Orange club has extended an invitation to Dubbo to race at Orange 18 October. "We sincerely hope that this becomes a regular occurrence as we believe that a supportive and cooperative approach such as this between clubs is an important and mutually beneficial way forward for the karting community."

  • Karting Academy Trophy driver parade at the most recent round at Genk makes for an impressive photo with everyone sporting the same design race suit. Spanish girl Marta Garcia Lopez (3rd from right) has won the final at both rounds so far. We reckon this kid must already have more talent than a certain female F1 'reserve' driver...
