  • Whyalla Kart Club in South Australia will be running Come-n-Try Karting days in July and August. Designed to introduce potential karters to the sport, people from 7 years of age will be able to take to the track in proper race karts. Reckon you could get any of your friends, work colleagues or relatives hooked on this sport? If so, further information for this weekend's day (July 11) is HERE and info for August 29 is HERE.

  • An arrive-and-drive spec class will run at the 21st edition of the Rock Island Grand Prix in America. It will use Ignite K3 spec chassis manufactured by Margay Racing equipped with the LO206 4-stroke engine and hard compound Bridgestone YDS tyres. A package for the weekend that includes race-ready kart, fuel, tent space, catered lunches and a shared mechanic will be available for US$995 (AUS$1330).

  • 3MK Events, the organiser of the Rotax International Cup, has launched the registration campaign for the new international Rotax event to be held near Paris from 7th to 11th October 2015. "Many teams and drivers have already expressed interest in the de facto World Cup dedicated to Rotax Max" 3MK stated in a press release.


  • The Alice Springs Karting Club won a 'best display' award at the 2015 Alice Springs Show recently. Well done to the club for putting the sport out there in the public domain! Below is ASKC President Shane Thompson receiving the award from the Miss Alice Springs Showgirl.

  • Looks like Remo Luciani is playing peekaboo! The Remo Racing service compound is trackside at Australian Kart Championship rounds (plus other events) to support Karting Australia's IAME competitors. Remo is available for personal trackside assistance and advise for all IAME, KA100 and X30 drivers.

  • The CIK-FIA European Champions for KZ and KZ2 will be crowned this weekend at the Genk circuit in Belgium. The event will have live timing and live streaming (with English commentary by Australian Ian Salvestrin) via www.cikfia.tv It's also the second round of the Karting Academy Trophy.

  • The 2015 KartSport New Zealand National Conference will be held in Auckland on 29-30 August. This year the theme is STRONG, SUCCESSFUL, SUSTAINABLE and SUPPORTIVE Clubs and the Conference format will feature a range of Workshop sessions. Clubs will also get to vote for 'Club of the Year'.   • Former F1 racer Rubens Barrichello has qualified to race in this year's Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals! The 43-year old won the South American Rotax Championship in the DD2 class last Sunday in Florianópolis, Brazil. Starting the final from P2, Barrichello was quickly into the lead and won by an impressive 12.8s over Argentine driver Brian Stafuza. "I'll be in Portugal (for the World Final), it will be an honor to participate in this competition" he said.

  • Superkart televison coverage from the opening round of the CIK-FIA European Superkart Championship at Donnington (UK) with the infamous Ken Walker - view it HERE.

  • Kartsport Wellington (NZ) has a couple of cameras installed at their circuit that take a photo every 10 minutes (every 5 minutes on weekends). Club members (and the public) can then jump on the club's website and check the track conditions before leaving home. Don't think there was much happening there yesterday! (9 July)
