Victorian Superkarts, Round 3

Superkarts returned to the Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit for Round three of the Victorian Club Championship on Sunday June 14.
The big banger 250 Twin karts were thin on the ground with their Australian Championships less than a month away in Sydney. It was the karts of Anton Stevens and Kristian Stebbing who came out for some final tuning and testing.
Same went for the 250 singles, but Team Slipstream got a few more laps under Jordan (Jordy) Fords bum and also bled in a new driver by way of Tyler Williams who has stepped out of the NGB class for a run with the big boys. Tyler unfortunately suffered a few electrical issues but managed some very impressive laps in his first outing in the gearbox kart. At days end it was Raff Pironti with the win, Jordy Ford in second and Tyler with a third.
Also there to get some test laps in was Garry Haywood driving his 125cc gearbox to a convincing win over Jarrod Lethborg and Shane Fewster.

Our newest class, the 125cc Stock Honda, provided some great close racing action all day with Craig Edwards ahead of Nathan Prior and Justin (Juzzy) Ford.
Nathan Pryor also set a new lap record for Stock Honda with 1:47.8663 being the new bench mark.
In Non-Gearbox (Rotax) Light the win on a count back went to Sanuja Perera over Russ Occhipinti and Tim Clarke giving the Ace Hire Kart team a one-two finish.
Non-Gearbox Heavy (Rotax) went to Jarrod Sanfillipo over Alan Dodge from Sydney and Rod Clarke.
