Big Weekend of Speedway On Central Coast

press release 14 April 2015

So far 2015 has not been kind to the members of the Central Coast Speedway Kart Club.

Mother Nature washed out the scheduled February and March race meetings, however she will not dampen the spirit of the Club or its members and this weekend the Coast will come alive with two big race meetings back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday.

Following a long off season and then having to wait two months, this weekend will see the Gosford Showground play host to 60+ eager karters racing over two big days.

Saturday the go karts will shine under lights as the Club hosts it’ annual “Autumn Twilight Spectacular” meeting, proudly sponsored this year by MFM Omega Racing Karts NSW.

The Morgan Family who own and operate the Omega Racing Kart franchise in NSW are fantastic supporters of the Club and its members. MFM Omega Racing Karts offer full workshop facilities and track side services.

The meeting will start at 1pm with all the classes completing their heat racing by the dinner break and then the finals will be run under lights.

Every karter loves racing at night and the Gosford Showground surface comes to life as the sun goes down producing some of the country’s best speedway kart racing.

This annually run meeting is supported very well and again this year the committee is expecting a big turnout.

So - once all your Saturday chores and sport is finished - come to the Gosford Showground and watch the best speedway karters race hard to take home the honours.

Saturday Night is just to whet your appetite for action! Just as the dust settles and the sun rises, the drivers and teams will be back at the Showground bright and early  Sunday morning to contest the “Huckel Excavations 800”.

Huckel Excavations is a locally based Central Coast business that has been specialising in excavation and land clearing since 2011.

A keen supporter of the CCSKC, Huckel Excavations is the reason drivers who race at Gosford experience such a great racing surface as they are responsible for the track preparation of the circuit.

Sunday will be a rerun of the washed out February round 1 meeting and again will see 60+ karts all contesting the event.

This meeting is scheduled to start at 10am and it will complete a fantastic weekend of speedway action by the time the final chequered flag falls in the afternoon.

Both race  meetings will also be incorporating the newly formed Junior Super Series and the Club is excited that a field of  20+ karts will be on hand to battle out the heats and a B main for the all important 16 positions in the A main.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to see speedway karts before why not come out to the Gosford Showground on Saturday or Sunday and watch this spectacle.

Full canteen facilities available during the two days and Saturday evening for all food and drink needs.

The meeting is open to all licensed KA (Karting Australia) drivers and we encourage and welcome all drivers to come and give it a go, once you do ... you’ll be back!
