Lehane Wins Opening Euro MAX Round!

Australia's Piercce Lehane won the opening round of the 2015 Rotax Euro MAX Challenge at the Salbris circuit in France overnight.
Having qualified pole, then winning all his heat races in the wet, Lehane took his Strawberry Racing Tony Kart to victory in the dry for both pre-final and final.
Lehane opened a small gap in the early laps of the final, but never got more than about half a second ahead of his rivals. Strawberry Racing dominated the category and it was Lehane's teammates who applied the pressure in the closing stages.
Fortunately for Pierce, the battle for second and third slowed the pack down, meaning he had a few kart lengths advantage entering the final lap.
"Best possible start to the European Championship!" he wrote on Facebook. "Can't thank Strawberry Racing and Cream engines enough! Also Big job by the team - 1,2,3 in senior and 1,2,4 in Junior! Salbris signed off!!"
