Again, the girls gathered at Lithgow City Kart Raceway, promoted by Combined Districts Kart Club, for the females only annual go kart race meeting with competitors from all over Australia taking part.

The team from Tasmania did a great job of fund raising which not only covered their travelling expenses to enable them to cross the Bass Straight so that they could attend the meeting; they also donated a cheque to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

As well as the Tasmanians, we had competitors from South Australia, North Queensland, Victoria, ACT and regional NSW all of which contributed to very successful meeting which is the only females only race meeting held in Australia.

Combined Districts Kart Club have staged this special event meeting since 2007 and to date has raised $150,000.00 from fund raising for research into a cure for breast cancer.

As part of the race meeting the club carries out a Charity Princess fund raising competition and this year the winner was Kiara Beattie.  The girls who participated in the competition carried out various fund raising activities to raise much needed funds for the Foundation.

The racing was very spirited and highly contested with 57 participants covering 13 classes with the drivers competing for trophies as well as the much sought-after PINK plate.

In tribute to Nicole Franks, a special trophy is awarded to the overall winner (decided by a point score system).  This year the trophy was awarded Melisa Whitmore from the Windsor area.

The race meeting is carried out annually in January and includes, not only great competitive racing, but also includes a charity auction and dinner which is held in the clubhouse.  This year the auction raised almost $4000.00 through prizes donated by various  supporters including Yamaha Australia.
