The 2026 Vintage Karting Grand Nationals was held at the Albury-Wodonga Kart Club on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th September 2026, attracting vintage karting competitors and enthusiasts from across Australia.

The event featured 61 drivers and approximately 120 karts, representing all eras of karting from 1959 through to 2000. The event took place on the Club’s 750-metre short track, with timed vintage kart practice sessions held across both days.

With dry and sunny weather throughout the weekend, competitors and spectators enjoyed plenty of track time and excellent conditions, creating a fantastic atmosphere for the event.

Awards were presented for the fastest times in each era, along with a Top 5 Shootout for the overall fastest karts, including the spectacular 200cc twin-engine karts. A separate shootout was held for the older 100cc Era 3 and 4 karts. Best Presented Kart awards were also judged for each era.

A Presentation Dinner was held on Saturday night at the Blazing Stump Hotel in Wodonga. During the evening, Historic Karting Victoria awarded Life Membership to Mark McKeddie and Sue Devenyns in recognition of their years of service to vintage karting. Jenny Seath and Joan Van Pamelen were also inducted into the HKV Hall of Honour.

A commemorative plaque was presented to Albury-Wodonga Kart Club on behalf of the vintage karters, in appreciation for allowing us the use of their track and facilities and for supporting the event.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the weekend, and to the organising clubs — Classic Kart Club, Historic Karting Victoria and Albury-Wodonga Kart Club for putting on a fantastic event.
