from Kev ‘The Noise’ Davies and the Mackay club

Eighty entries contested the Mackay Kart Club’s M&P Services Whitsunday Titles on the weekend. Feature classes were Cadet 12 and Sportsman Medium and the event was also round 7 of the club’s 2025 series.

Racing in perfect weather, karters came from Mackay, Rockhampton, Emerald, Whitsundays and Townsville to battle for a spot on the podium and an opportunity to take home one of the revamped trophies.

“The day was supported by the one and only Kev ‘The Noise’ Davies Commentary, whose lively commentary kept everyone entertained and involved from start to finish” the club posted.

“His passion and energy truly made the event special. Don’t Forget to Jump onto the LIVE Streams at Kev Davies and Like and Share and share and share! We are going to have a serious crack at shaking up the leader board!!!

“A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated volunteers, yard crew, canteen team and officials whose tireless efforts both leading up to and on the day of the event were instrumental in ensuring its smooth and successful execution. A special shout-out to the Management Committee, who have been working diligently on this event for quite some time. Thank you, Peter, Adam, Max, Erin and Richard.

‘The Noise’ was humbled once again to receive a replica trophy at the Whitsunday Titles, as did the class sponsors and Max Lamb from M&P Services, the title sponsor receiving the extra large one!

“Additionally, we greatly appreciate and thank our members, karters, and spectators — all of whom played their part in making sure the day proceeded seamlessly without a hitch. Huge thanks to Woolworths Walkerston for once again supplying us with a fantastic variety of fruit to keep our competitors well-nourished! We truly appreciate your support.

“Congratulations Imogen Hobley and Chris Levitz making their racing debut in the Cadet Beginner class and Yamaha J Heavy class. Well done – we are all proud of you and can’t wait to have you back next race meeting.

“The racing was fast and with some of our talent competitors setting new lap records. Nick Garioch has smashed the Sportsman Heavy lap record setting a 38.913, whilst Matthew Clarke on the new Dunlop DHH tyre has established a new lap record for the tyre at a 38.178.

“The success of the 2025 event wouldn’t have been possible without the generous financial support of our event sponsor and class sponsors. We sincerely thank each of you for your invaluable contributions in making the event a success. We sincerely appreciate the substantial support that M&P Services – Quality Transportable Buildings has provided to our club over the years. We are grateful for their partnership and their valuable contribution to our organization.
