It is with sadness we learn of the recent passing of Paul Stania. Always up for a chat and a cheeky dig or opinion on something to do with karting, Paul will be dearly missed by many. Over the years he has been heavily involved with several clubs, particularly Geelong and GKCV. Tragically for the Stania family, his death comes a little over 12 months since wife Sylvia passed away.
Condolences are extended to Jason and family at this difficult time.
A selection of tributes that have been posted on social media are published below.
Geelong Kart Club
With great sadness Geelong kart Club must report the passing of one of the legends of Australian Karting Paul Stania. Paul was a life member and our Chief Steward and one of the most informed people to have ever graced a kart track in this country. Paul passed away suddenly on Tuesday 26th August. It was only on 17th August that Paul was stewarding at our most recent club event, chatting happily about all things karting and imparting a wealth of knowledge that few could equal. Paul spent a lifetime involved in karting as a driver, official, pit crew and many other things all in combination with his loving wife Sylvia who we lost recently also. Paul was there for Geelong Kart Club when he was needed the most and we will be forever thankful for everything he did for us. Our condolences go out to Jason, Amy, Ollie and Eden.

Brian Francis & Family
Our deepest condolences to Jason and the entire family. Paul and Sylvia Stania gave so much of themselves to us and to so many others in karting. Paul’s unmistakable British quick wit and humour will always be remembered with great fondness. A legend of our sport. With heartfelt sympathy.

The world has lost a true gentleman. An absolute pillar of the karting community with decades of international, national and local karting experience along with constant words of wisdom relating to life itself. Paul has left a void that will never be filled. Sincere condolonces to Jason, Amy, Ollie, Eden and the Stania family. Competitor, legend and friend. RIP Paul.
