Should a Masters category for older drivers be part of the Australian Kart Championship series?
One of the country’s top drivers and Masters competitors, Kip Foster, has expressed his hope that Masters will one day be part of the AKC.
Do you think this is a good idea, or not?
Of course, there are a lot of questions:
- Would it receive sufficient competitor support (ie, entry numbers) to justify running at AKC?
- Should it be an additional category, and if so, would an existing class be culled from the AKC program?
- What would be the age cut-off? Over-32, Over-35 and Over-40 are common classifications around the world.
- How would this affect the Australian Kart Masters event?
But, for the moment, do you think this should happen?
