A fire at the Bendigo kart track that destroyed the club’s canteen has not stopped the club from running its May race day this weekend.
The fire razed the building on Wednesday, but the track itself was not affected.
“The fire was contained to the canteen area and will be fully fenced off so we can still run our May Club Day safely” the club stated.
The club organised a food truck to cater for this Saturday’s race day.
“We appreciate your support as we begin the journey to rebuild — and aim to be back better than ever in time for Golden Power!”

In a brilliant show of camaraderie and support, the Eastern Lions Kart Club will donate entry fees from Bendigo members who compete at Puckapunyal on Sunday, back to the Bendigo club (minus the Karting Victoria levy).
“Let’s come together as a karting community to lend a hand. The more entries, the more we can give — so spread the word and we’ll see you on track this weekend” ELKC posted.
The Bendigo round of the Golden Power Series takes place at the Marong Raceway circuit on October 4-5.
