New Fuel Pump for Rotax MAX

A new fuel pump with a higher flow rate has been approved for use by Karting Australia in the Senior MAX and DD2 Rotax categories.

In Senior MAX and DD2 it is now permitted to use either the MIKUNI diaphragm pump (item 994483) or the new Dellorto diaphragm pump (item 994487).

Importantly, this new Dellorto fuel pump can only be used in those two classes – it is not approved for the Junior MAX or Mini MAX engines, which must continue to use the Mikuni pump.

“The reason for the new fuel pump is that with the latest high grip tyres, Rotax found that on some tracks with long sweeping corners the fuel was pushed over to the side of the float bowl for an extended period and this resulted in tuning issues” an update revealed.

The pumps can be purchased separately, but a retrofit kit includes all the hardware required to switch over to the new fuel pump. RRP is $220.
