Barrichello Kart for Rotax Grand Finals

Another signature brand of kart will makes its debut at the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals later this year.

Former Ferrari F1 driver Rubens Barrichello’s new chassis will be used in the DD2 Masters category, in which Barrichello himself competes. The kart is manufactured by Birelart (see video, below).

Overall, chassis from three manufacturers will be used as the one-make spec karts at this year’s Grand Final, which takes place in the Kingdom of Bahrain from November 29 to December 6.

Birelart, IPK and Sodikart – three of the world’s leading kart manufacturers – will supply equipment and technical support for the nearly 400 qualified drivers.

BirelART

Birelart will supply chassis for the DD2 class, specifically, the Birelart RY30RXS18.

The Charles Leclerc Kart CL28S18 will be used by the youngest drivers in Micro MAX and the Barrichello Kart for the oldest drivers in DD2 Masters.

“By creating two karting lines endorsed by Formula 1 drivers, BirelART aims to connect the prestige of iconic motorsport names with youth and professional karting” the organisation is quoted in the Rotax chassis announcement.

“These successful drivers represent different generations; both began in karting. This can motivate young drivers to chase their dreams. Leclerc has a young, modern appeal, while Barrichello speaks to nostalgic fans with a technical approach.”

IPKarting will supply the Mini MAX category with the Formula K Monster chassis and the Praga Dragon XS3 model in the Junior MAX category.

The Italian manufacturer has partnered with Rotax for the Grand Finals since 2013 in New Orleans, USA.

Sodikart

Sodikart and Rotax have a solid partnership at the RMCGF that spans over two decades, since the 2-speed RM1 class in 2004.

The Sodi Sigma RS3 2025 is the kart for the Senior MAX field. The RS3 30mm frame is a new design “increasing performance and allowing for easy set-up”. It has been developed around the Rotax regulation MOJO tyre where “the longer wheelbase and welded column support ensure its effectiveness”.

Sodi Sigma DD2 remains the chassis for the Rotax E20 electric kart.

“Birelart, IPK and Sodikart have been strong global players and equally invaluable partners for our flagship Rotax karting event,” said Peter Oelsinger, General Manager BRP-Rotax.

“Their dedicated teams have continually worked with us to ensure the most unique motorsport event is the ultimate season highlight on the Rotax racing calendar.

“Together, we want every driver to be given the chance to compete with equipment that delivers optimum quality, parity and reliability.”
