Australian junior driver William Calleja won a bunch of races at the Champions Of The Future Euro Series round at Campillos, Spain, but missed the victory in the final.
Calleja (Forza Racing, Exprit/TM) qualified fastest in OK-Junior and won four of the five heats, plus the Super Final. However a decision to swap sides on the grid for the Final saw him drop to P4 at the start before recovering to third.

Sebastian Eskandari-Marandi (Tony Kart Racing Team, Tony Kart/Vortex) qualified 42nd and worked his way into a P28 start for the OK-Junior final. Unfortunately he was forced to retire with kart damage on the second lap.
With the first of five rounds done, Calleja sits equal second on points, just one point off the lead.

In OK, Lewis Francis and James Anagnostiadis (both KR/IAME) qualified 18th and 31st respectively. The two Aussies moved forward through the heat races, earning grid 8 and 14 starts for the final before taking 6th and 7th respectively.
“After coming P3 in the superheat with the fastest lap, I had high hopes for the final” Francis posted. “However, I was unable to perform at my best due to an issue with my rear left tire. Still very pleased with the weekend, and I’m proud of the development throughout the races.”
The event saw 96 drivers race in OK and 91 in OK-Junior. Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM) won OK and Illie Crisan (Tony Kart/Vortex) won Junior.
