After the first two rounds of the 3 Round Ipswich Kart Club “Pineapple Cup”, Tyson McGill and Bailey Sagaidak are the leaders in the point-score for KA2 Junior and KZ2.
The third round will be contested as part of the “Ipswich Race of Champions” (IROC) event on May 9th, 10th and 11th.
Apart from one bad Heat in Round 2, McGill has been pretty dominant in the Junior class and is sitting on 940 points. Holding down 2nd on 852 points is Jye Flynn. Flynn has benefited from the bonus points for Fastest Lap at both Rounds to jump ahead of Harry Bresnehan on 836 points. With a maximum of 520 points available per Round, its still quite feasible for Flynn and/or Bresnehan to challenge McGill for the Series win if he falters in a Heat or two at Round 3. Cooper Folley on 736 points, Levi Doessel on 720 points and Seth Huth on 692 points are outside chances but could still end up in the top 3 in the Series with a good last Round.

In KZ2, Jac Preston dominated Round 1 to win from Sagaidak and Tom Hunter. Sagaidak and Troy Loeskow battled hard in Round 2 with Sagaidak coming out on top and he sits on 992 points with a good lead overall from Hunter on 900 points who again finished 3rd in Round 2. Preston on 520 points, Jordi Slater on 516 points and Loeskow on 488 points are locked in a tight 3 way battle for 3rd in points going into Round 3.
