A young NSW karter has received an Australia Day recognition by his local council.
A member of the Lismore Kart Club, Travis Dhu was awarded the 2025 Richmond Valley Council Young Sportsperson of the Year as part of its Australia Day Ceremony in Broadwater, NSW.

“The recognition Travis received, not only reflected his on track success but also the unwavering dedication and assistance he gives to the Lismore Kart Club & the wider Karting Community” the club posted.
Competing in the Lismore Toyota Young Guns across the Australia Day weekend, Travis was not able to attend the ceremony to accept his award.

“Being unaware of his achievement, Travis was surprised with the presentation of his Young Sportsperson of the Year Award, presented to him by Karting Australia NSW State Secretary Dawn Hull & Karting Australia NSW State Technical Paul Hull at the conclusion of our presentations for Young Guns.
“Lismore Kart Club commend Travis on this achievement and are proud to have a strong history of karting success within our club.”
