Entries are pouring in for the 1st Round of the 2025 Ipswich Kart Club Championship with over 230 entries received so far and KA3 Junior Light already at capacity of 40 entrants, with Cadet 12 getting close at 35 entrants and a very impressive field so far of 24 KA2 Juniors.
With entries coming from Tasmania, Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Northern Territory and all parts of Queensland, the IKC Championship continues to reinforce itself as the premier Club Championship level racing in the country.
KA3 Junior Light will be next level at IKC this year with an amazing group of talented drivers, including quite a few who have graduated up from Cadet 12 from last year. Amongst the early favourites will be Jye Flynn, Oscar Hennock, Dima Micale, Baxter Jarrett, Tyson McGill, Paddy Buckley, Liam Carr, Chad Rissman, Alester Flack and Corey Carson.
The KA2 Juniors will be contesting the 1st Round of the 2025 Pineapple Cup and there will be some strong contenders for the KA2 podium at this 1st Round from the likes of Ky Burke, Liam Carr, Harry Bresnehan, Tyson McGill, Poppi Rule, Cooper Folley, Anashe Manyau, Corey Carson, Jye Flynn and Ayrton Dalmaso. There will also be a tremendous battle between a heap of first timers to KA2 consisting of Roman Krutil, Gabriel Elkayam, Levi Doessel, Declan Hicks, Xavier Knight, Quade Powers and Jack Larsen.
Harry Bresnehan, Buster Bailey, Quade Powers, Tyson McGill, Harry Bourke, Jett Saraghi and Seth Huth will be the leading contenders in KA3 Junior Heavy.
KA3 Senior will be a very interesting class to watch at IKC this year with many talented drivers coming up from Juniors such as Ryan Reid, Henry Stratford, Annabel Kennedy and Seb Bennett taking on the already established drivers like Max Walton, Dominic Penman, Declan Matthews, Hugh McGuire, Toby Spinks, Talea Kiddle, Jace Matthews, Maddie Feather and Kip Foster.
TAG Restricted Light is another class that will have some very good Juniors who have graduated to Seniors to take on the established stars like Robert Mortensen, Thomas Williams, Jake Czislowski, Jack Munro and Jack Doessel. Jaxon Turner, Hudson Lippiatt and Will Carmichael will be amongst the youngsters who will want to make an immediate impression.
TAG Restricted Masters was a fantastic class to watch last year and Rudy Farkas, Jumpei Morita, Mark Robinson, Allan Mayes, Gavin Soward, David Vogel and Mick Robinson, will be amongst the likely frontrunners.
Of the entries received so far in TAG Restricted Medium, Josh Herne, Sebastian DiSalvo, Riley van Den Broek, Rudy Farkas, Justin McCartney and Matt Goddard will all be towards the front.
Cadet 12 at IKC is hugely competitive and whilst a few of last year’s pacesetters have moved up to Juniors, a new lot of graduates from Cadet 9 will add to the excitement of watching this class. Harlen Bell, Oliver Flack, Jeremy Broadbent, Michael Quintiliani, Riccardo Johnston, Knox Black, Carter Grother, Casper Anderson, Blake Haigh and Lukas Loeskow will all be amongst the frontrunners.
Cadet 9 is a little down on numbers at this stage, with many going up to Cadet 12, but of the entries so far it will be an interesting contest between Emerson Mills, Scarleet Mitrovic, Hugo Jones and Alfie Doyle.
KZ2 will be contesting the 1st Round of the 2025 Pineapple Cup and will be grouped on track with Open Performance and DD2. Entries for KZ2 so far are quite small, but Jac Preston, Bailey Sagaidak, Jordi Slater and Tom Hunter will have a great battle. DD2 will be the usual battle between, Scott Cleveland, Adam Woods, Jason Smith and Angus Mathers
TAG Light is always high performance racing at IKC and with some early entries from Trent Newton, Hugh McGuire, Jack Wells, William Gallagher, Jordi Slater, Jack Stimson and Harrison Mitchell, the class will put on some high level racing.
Will Marshall, Josh Dagg, Chris Williams, Sam Missen and Kel Goesch will be the leading contenders in TAG Heavy in what at this stage is a small field.
TAG competitors are also advised that they can enter the Open Performance class and run full X30 configuration, so those racing TAG Light or TAG Heavy on the Friday evening, can also enter to run Open Performance on the Saturday evening.
Interstate competitors need to be fully aware of the AKC Host Club rules which means they may not be able to participate in the Friday or Saturday Social Karting Activity, unless Ipswich Kart Club is their appointed AKC Host Club.
Ipswich Kart Club once again will have the live to Youtube feed at all Club Championship Rounds this year.
Entries for the race meeting will be open until 10.59pm Queensland time on Wednesday the 29th of January.
