IROC & Supercars Showdown for IKC

Ipswich Kart Club have scheduled a massive calendar of events for 2025, which will feature the 8 Round Club Championship, a new event IROC “IKC Race of Champions” which will be a stand alone prestigious event and a special Friday night “Supercars Showdown” event to be held on the weekend of the Supercars Round at nearby Queensland Raceway. In addition of course, the Australian Kart Championship will be returning to Ipswich Kart Club in 2025 in late July.

The IKC Championship will commence with Round 1 on Friday the 31st of January and Saturday the 1st of February, a 2 day event with racing to be held each afternoon and into the evening under lights. This Round will also be Round 1 of a 3 Round Series for KA2 Junior and KZ2.

Round 2 will be on Saturday the 1st of March and will be the TAG Restricted Titles for TAG Restricted Light, TAG Restricted Medium and TAG Restricted Masters. The 2nd Round of the Series for KA2 Junior and KZ2 will also be on the programme for 1st of March.

Round 3 on the 5th April will be the hugely popular Cadet Titles, including the Cadet P only class.

The “IKC Race of Champions” (IROC) will be on Friday the 9th, Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th of May, with Official Practice on the Friday and Racing across the Saturday and Sunday.

The IKC Race of Champions will be the premier event at Ipswich Kart Club going forward and will feature the 8 AKC Classes plus 2 or 3 invite classes each year. So for 2025, the classes on offer at the IKC Race of Champions will be, Cadet 9, Cadet 12, KA3 Junior (Championship weight) Junior Rotax, X30, KA3 Senior, Senior Rotax, TAG, KA2 Junior, DD2/DD2 Masters and KZ2.

Round 4 of the IKC Championship will take place on Saturday the 7th of June and the Feature Classes will be KA3 Senior, KA3 Junior Light and KA3 Junior Heavy as they all contest the KA100 Titles.

Round 5 on Saturday the 28th of June will be for the TAG Titles and TAG Light and TAG Heavy will contest for the Graeme Acreman Memorial Perpetual trophies.

The Australian Kart Championship returns to Ipswich Kart Club on Friday the 25th, Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th of July.

Shortly after the AKC Round at Ipswich, on Friday evening the 8th of August, IKC will host the “Supercars Showdown” an event which will be a short night-time festival of karting competition with some Supercar drivers in attendance. Classes that will contest this event are to be finalised and will be announced in coming months.

Up to this point in the racing season at IKC, all events will use the normal Track B Configuration, but for IKC Championship Round 6 on Saturday the 30th of August, the Track A Configuration will be in use.

The track configuration will revert back to the normal Track B configuration for IKC Championship Round 7 on Saturday the 27th of September.

The racing season at IKC will conclude with Round 8 of the Championship, the Capri Cup, on Saturday the 1st of November. The now traditional closing event of the season will again use the popular Reverse Track K Configuration.
