Do you consider this to be fantastically close racing with drivers competing hard and doing whatever they felt necessary to win? Or was it an example of over-defensive and retaliative driving?
At the Rotax Grand Finals, and many kart races these days, the difference in performance across the field is minimal. The high-speed nature of the Sarno circuit resulted in a game of drafting, the leader towing their rivals down the straights.

But it turned into a bit of a block-fest, the leader looking over their shoulder, crowding the line and backing the field up. And there was plenty of heave-ho, more than once a rival was pushed clean off the circuit…
It should be noted, this behaviour was not restricted to Senior MAX, nor just the front pack, but it was at its most extreme in this class.
