Gippsland’s September Races

A wet final round of heat races spiced things up at the Gippsland Go Kart Club’s September club day on Sunday.

The first three heats were in cool conditions and great for fast times, but then fine rain fell for the last heat, putting everyone onto wets. Well, almost everyone. The Senior Medium and TaG Restricted drivers all stayed on slicks and all had at least one spin, but had a bunch of fun!

At the conclusion of the opening two rounds of heats, racing took a break and everyone at the venue assembled on the start-finish line for the official ceremony to name the “Monds Straight” in acknowledgment of Graeme and Jeanette Monds’ many years of service to the club. A separate article about that will be posted soon.
