Kartsport New Zealand has implemented a complaint system whereby only serious matters with national significance filter through to the nation body; other matters are dealt with at club level.
The following is from Kartsport NZ:
CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHT – COMPLAINTS SERVICE
An important discussion during the National Conference centered around the volume of feedback received annually that the KartSport New Zealand staff and Board must work through. As technology has evolved, it’s easier than ever to contact the National organisation and its personnel – both through professional channels and privately. However, often the feedback received is better suited to be directed to the local club hosting the event, who are generally more informed on the issue.
Significant time and resources are often spent by the national office trying to work through feedback, as it must often investigate from a blank starting point. To streamline feedback/complaints within the sport and ensure that only serious matters with national significance reach the national organization, a suggestion was put forward by clubs to implement a Complaints Service. This service is now available, as a form via the KartSport New Zealand website, and shortly via each club’s site.
When you reach the page via the KartSport website, you will be directed to select the club in which your complaint or feedback relates to. This will then open a form hosted by that club, where you can provide the details. With this system, the club will receive notification of the issue and be able to handle it in the first instance, while the KartSport New Zealand office will still have access to the overall log of reported complaints.
The way the club handles the complaint may vary and may include but is not limited to: offering further education on the matter, conducting a fair committee lead investigation understanding all sides of the issue, or escalating the matter to KartSport New Zealand. KartSport New Zealand will regularly check the log of complaints to ensure any highly serious, or potentially nationally relevant issues are escalated when required. It will also conduct regular check-ins with clubs for reports back on incidents.
