Arguably Tasmania’s premier karting circuit just out of Launceston has been shut down due to a sink hole appearing in and under the racing surface.
The sink hole was discovered today as the club was undertaking preparation for next week’s annual Cowbiz Archerville Classic meeting. That event can now not take place as the extent of the damage has not yet been determined..
“Unfortunately LKC will be postponing the up coming Cowbiz Archerville Classic V” the club confirmed.
“With persistent wet weather we are unable to set a new date yet as a repair time is unknown.
“We will be having the situation inspected by a contractor next week to advise of the extent of the damage and required repairs. We apologise for any inconvenience that this will cause.”

The club plans to reschedule the event, however nothing can be decided until proper inspections and rectification works are complete.
