Ipswich Prepped for Rotax National Cup

Ipswich Kart Club will be hosting the 2024 Australian Rotax National Cup this weekend, with 4 Tickets up for grabs to the Rotax World Finals later in the year.

Held across Saturday the 17th of August and Sunday the 18th of August, the Rotax classes of Junior Rotax, Senior Rotax Light, Senior Rotax Heavy, DD2 and DD2 Masters will contest a total of 78 laps of racing across 4 Heats and a Final.

As Invitational Classes, Cadet 12, TAG Restricted Light and TAG Restricted Medium will contest a total of 57 laps.

Rotax and Invitational class competitors will also be able to book in via KOMP for Friday practice which will consist of 5 x 10 minute sessions and 2 x 20 minute sessions per class.

At the conclusion of racing on the Saturday, Ipswich Kart Club will be providing a supplied dinner on Saturday night including slow cooked smoked brisket, pulled pork, chicken wings, salads and corn on the cob, to all competitors and families, plus the highly anticipated Rotax National Cup tyre changing competition will be held Saturday evening.

In the Rotax classes, Seth Brown, Harrison Hoey, Bailey Sagaidak, Max Walton and Brock Plumb will put on a show in DD2, whilst in DD2 Masters Scott Howard, Troy Bretherton, Terry Hanly and Scott Cleveland will be the main contenders.

In Junior Max the expected frontrunners will be Jye Flynn, Hamish Campbell, Basilo Micale, Izaak Fletcher, Patrick Buckley and Tyson McGill.

Brent Reading, Sam Houston, Zane Morrison, Gav Whitmore, Chris Board and Jack Black will be amongst the leaders in Rotax Senior Heavy and in a hugely talented Senior Rotax Light field, Jace Matthews, Kayden Thompson, Keegan Fraser, Max Walton, Marc Tulloch, Toby Spinks and Harrison Hoey will battle for the lead.
