CANADA ACADEMY – Journie, a Canadian fuel station and convenience store chain that sponsors Kyffin Simpson’s Chip Ganassi Racing Indycar, has launched a driving academy. DESIGN REQUEST – Superkarts! USA has put the word out they’re looking to the karting community to develop the track layout for this year’s 27th edition of the SKUSA SuperNationals. “Our goal is to welcome everyone to be involved with our track layout for this year’s SuperNationals,” SKUSA CEO Tom Kutscher said. “We’ve had several awesome temporary circuits in the last 26 editions of the race. Now, we want to blow up the status que (sic) and replicate a layout that racers want to see built outside the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Lonato, Suzuka, Le Mans, Genk, La Conca, any circuit you think would be a killer track to race on in Vegas, we want you to tell us.” Submissions will be accepted up to July 29, but they cannot include elevation changes or bridges. Then, for one week in August, karters will get to vote which layout they want. Over 500 competitors are expected to do battle on November 13-17. Pre-entries are currently open and once again a number of Australians are expected to compete. Info is HERE.
