SKAA Life Members

The Speedway Karting Association of Australasia has awarded the organisation’s first Life Memberships.

Over the past week, Dennis Banicek and Troy Scott were both announced as recipients.

The SKAA would like to congratulate Troy Scott as one of the first Life Members of the Association.

Troy is a dedicated life member of the Yarra Valley Speedway Kart Club since 2011, has left an indelible mark on the racing community. With six consecutive years as club president, Troy tirelessly championed junior drivers, nurturing their talents and fostering a love for the sport.

His innovative spirit led to the creation of beloved events like the Kids Royal and Ironman 55, now honored as the Shane Smith 55. As the crew chief for the Aus 1 kart and numerous state title-winning karts, Troy’s expertise and leadership propelled teams to success. His own racing achievements include holding the Victoria #2 spot for the Outlaw class in 2012-13. In recognition of his unwavering dedication and contributions, Troy was rightfully bestowed with life membership at the Yarra Valley club in 2021-22.

The SKAA would like to congratulate Dennis Banicek as one of the first life members of the association.

Dennis is a stalwart member of our association, having been involved since its inception. With two terms as Secretary under his belt, he’s been instrumental in shaping and upholding the association’s rules. Always ready to lend a hand, Denmis actively supports both new and seasoned members, making himself available whenever needed.

His true passion lies in speedway karting, where he’s been a driving force since 2010 as a member of the technical committee. Currently serving his fourth consecutive year as President of the Darwin Speedway Karting Club, Dennis’s dedication to the sport is unmatched.

On the track, Dennis has left an indelible mark with numerous personal racing achievements. From NT titles to podium finishes in Outlaws and Modifieds, his talent and determination have earned him recognition time and again. Notably, he clinched the 2014 NT Titles in Outlaws and secured the Australia 2 spot in the 125 gearbox class in 2018-19.

Beyond his racing endeavors, Dennis is an integral member of the organizing committee, contributing to the success of major events like the 2018-19 Australian title in Darwin. With his unwavering commitment and passion for speedway karting, Dennis Banicek is a deserving nominee for life membership in our association.
