Big Prizes, Multiple Tracks at Top Guns

The 2023 Junior Top Guns at Oakleigh will once again have a significant prize pool up for grabs and much of what’s on offer will be won via random draw rather than race results.

Each round will be run on a different configuration of the Oakleigh circuit. Round 1 is on the club’s 1056m “Long” track while round two is on the slightly shorter 1012m “National” layout.

Heading the list of prizes is a brand new Arrow kart and over $5000 in cash. Each class will also have a full set of tyres raffled off at the conclusion of the series.

Trophies will be awarded both nights, then overall trophies and the cash down to 5th for the series place getters.

One lucky Junior Top Guns entrant will win a brand new Arrow suitable for the class in which they race

Drivers must enter and race both rounds and be in attendance at the draw to win prizes. The breakup of the cash purse is below (positions based on combined points from all heats and finals over both rounds)

  • 1st $300
  • 2nd $200
  • 3rd $100

Entries to this special season opening event close in just a couple of days time! Jump onto the Karting Australia CMS (before Tuesday night, the 17th!).

Top Guns offers a great start to the year on the re-designed circuit with the challenging (and popular) cork-screw section. It’ll be great for breaking in and testing new gear, plus shake out the Christmas cob-webs and prepare for the season ahead.

  • Note: a class must have a minimum of 8 entries to be eligible for prize money. At the time of publication half met this criteria and several were only a few entries off
