James’ Sixth State; Aiva’s X30 Debut

B & A Kart Racing made the trip from Victoria interstate for the New South Wales Kart Championship. James and Aiva Anagnostiadis are names well known in the Karting Australia ranks and both drivers were looking to add a state championship to their tally’s.

James was racing in the KA3 Junior class and Aiva in the KA3 Senior and X30 class were both ready for a massive weekend of racing!

Aiva was first out on track in the competitive KA3 Senior class. Anagnostiadis did a brilliant job in qualifying to come home inside the top 10 and just miss the top 5 in position 6 overall. Aiva was super competitive to start Saturday by making her way into 4th in heat 1 and then not missing the top 10 in heat 2 and 3 with a 6th and 8th. Anagnostiadis finished her final heat race in 9th position and was looking to fight her way back into the top 5 in the 18-lap final. Aiva was able to put in a stellar performance in the final and come home in a very competitive position 7 overall.

James was up next in the KA3 Junior class and qualifying was going to be crucial for the young pilot. Anagnostiadis was able to put his B & A kart racing on the front row of the grid in 21 driver national level field. James was able to put in a super consistent Saturday with 2nd in heat 1 and 3 and a brilliant victory in heat 2 putting off pole position for the final heat on Sunday. Heat 4 was an enthralling battle for Anagnostiadis with Western Australia Jack Webster battling him all the way, with James able to take another victory. Anagnostiadis was able to open up margin in the final but had a late challenge from Logan Eveleigh with the championship on the line. In a thrilling final few laps, James was able to hold onto victory and claim his maiden KA3 Junior state championship!

Aiva was back out on circuit in the X30 class ramping up her international preparation when she takes on the world in France for the FIA motorsport game. Anagnostiadis was able to put in a brilliant performance and qualify inside the top 10 on her debut in the class! Aiva put in a superb day’s racing on Saturday with 10th in the opening heat but then was able to move into the top 5 in heat 2! Anagnostiadis finished off her heats with a 7th in heat 3 and an unfortunate 14th in the final heat. Aiva’s brilliant weekend unfortunately end in tough circumstances with an incident on the opening lap putting her out of contention.

James and Aiva’s parents spoke post weekend on their 2 drivers results. “The NSW State Championships were tough! The weather threw everything at us. Aiva achieved her goals in preparation for France and we are super chuffed to have won a 6th State Title for James! James heads to the South Australian State Titles next weekend, whilst Aiva heads off to school camp”.

B & A Kart racing will be back on track this coming weekend with James looking for back-to-back state championships in South Australia!
