Tecno Karts Victoria – Country Kart Spares made the trip to the capital of Victoria for the 36th running of the City of Melbourne Kart Titles. The small team of 4 drivers over 3 classes was looking to continue to gather speed and knowledge in their Tecno chassis. With over 320 karters taking to the track, the team were in for a big weekend of racing.
Hugo Garraway and Levi Fisher were first to hit the track in the KA4 Junior Heavy class. Both drivers were outside the top 10 in qualifying with Garraway in position 11 and Fisher in position 15. The drivers regrouped and Fisher putting in two brilliant heats on Saturday, moving up 10 spots in heat 1 and 7 spots in heat 2. Garraway also put in a brilliant performance in Saturdays heats moving into position 6 in heat 1 and position 7 in heat 2. Heat 3 was the highlight of the weekend with Fisher making her way up into position 2 which had him off the front row of the grid for the final. Garraway was able to come away with another consistent position 6 in heat 3. Both drivers raced hard in a hectic final race with Garraway leading the charge coming home in position 5 overall. Fisher dropped down to position 9 from the front row but put in a breakthrough performance of his career!
Aris Kyriakou took the track in the premier KA2 Junior class for the Tecno Karts Victoria – Country Kart Spares team. Kyriakou had an issue in qualifying which resulted in him not setting a time and starting of the rear of the field. Kyriakou consistently moved forward across the heats with position 14 in heat 1, position 15 in heat 2 and position 12 in heat 3. Aris put his best driving into the final race and came home with another consistent result in position 15 overall.

Aston Hill was the final Tecno Karts Victoria – Country Kart Spares driver to hit the track in KA4 Junior Light. Hill put himself in position 16 in qualifying and didn’t have the Saturday he was looking for dropping a few spots in heat 1 and having a DNF finish in heat 2. Hill started out of position 20 for heat 3 and moved up 4 spots and on the edge of the top 15. Hill finished off his weekend with another consistent result in position 17 overall.
Team manager Shane Moore spoke post weekend on the team’s fun weekend of racing. “It was a very positive weekend for Country Kart Spares / Tenco Victoria drivers and a clear step forward. So proud of all our drivers but having Levi Fisher starting on the front row for the KA4 Junior Heavy final was incredible. All our drivers never give up and with their Tecno karts starting to show the pace we know they have”.
The Tecno Karts Victoria – Country Kart Spares team will have a busy finish to 2022.
