A kart track that represents a scaled down version of Mallala will open next month at Mallala Motor Sport Park, north of Adelaide. The kart track uses part of the full size circuit with a cut-through that cleverly reproduces a smaller version of the full circuit.
Speedcafe.com reports the track is primarily designed for rental karts, though serious competition has not been ruled out on the 800m variation.
Superkarts have been racing on the full Mallala circuit for decades.
“This karting circuit will give a novice or an experienced karter, the exact experience as somebody who has raced on the Mallala race track” circuit owner Sam Shahin told speedcafe. “The result is a terrific facility that I’m incredibly proud of.”
Shahin told speedcafe he’s learnt a lot from his sister venue, The Bend Motorsport Park, which has a multi-purpose circuit used for karting and drifting.
The Mallala venue recently advertised a full time (38 hour week) 2IC vacancy on seek.com. The role involves working closely with the Venue Manager to coordinate and manage the karting circuit.
