Karting Australia (NSW) Inc has received official recognition as a State Sporting Organisation from the NSW Office of Sport.
Despite being a member of Karting Australia since 2018, the NSW Office of Sport did not recognise KANSW, which was established as a KA state member prior to Karting NSW being expelled in 2019.
KANSW posted the following on social media today:
Karting Australia (NSW) Inc. (KANSW) is pleased to confirm it has received complete recognition as a State Sporting Organisation from the NSW Office of Sport.
KANSW meets all of the Office of Sport’s 10-point eligibility criteria for recognition, importantly it is also the only karting organisation in NSW that is recognised by the National Sporting Organisation and International Sporting Organisation – Motorsport Australia and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile – through its affiliation with Karting Australia.
The Office of Sport’s recognition eligibility criteria reflect the modern sport operating environment. It is modelled on and aligned to the approach undertaken by Sport Australia for recognising National Sporting Organisations and customised to fit the NSW State Sporting Organisation context.
KANSW looks forward to working closely with the Office of Sport to further enhance participation, partnerships and investment along with improved sector sustainability and venues while meeting its strategic objectives in the coming years.
