Four Aussie Kids Head Overseas

Four young karters have departed Australia to chase the European karting circuit in 2022. All four – William Calleja, Bradley Majman, Lewis Francis and Dante Vinci – will compete on Parolin chassis with Shamick Racing’s international arm, Shamick Europe.

It is a huge commitment for all four drivers and their families.

“Here at Parolin Australia we are proud of each and every member within our team” the organisation posted when making the announcement.

“We understand that the foundation to any Motorsport career starts at karts. This is why we spend lots of time and effort with each and every one of our team drivers to ensure they learn the skills and knowledge to have them compete with success throughout any Australian competition.

“To move forward within Karting and to head into open wheelers, the best line of path is Kart racing in the heart of Motorsport, Italy. This is why we have extended our current Shamick racing team to now include Australia and Europe. We believe this is the best step for our drivers and families.”

William Calleja will be returning for his second year in the Mini class. “We look forward to William starting where he left 2021, when he qualified 5th in a strong field of 134 drivers. We wish William all the success for his hard work and his commitment deserves podiums.”
Lewis Francis will only be in Europe for three races, competing in OK Junior. “Coming off the back of winning the Australian Championship in Cadet 12, it will be a massive learning curve given he has not raced in Juniors yet. We look forward to seeing what Lewis can do!”
Dante Vinci is the newest member to the team, scheduled to do a full season of OKJ. “Dante will be starting his journey with Shamick Racing/Parolin Australia by competing for the full 2022 season in Europe. We look forward to working with you Dante and safe travels.”
Bradley Majman is returning for another season in OKJ after competing in four important rounds of the WSK and World Championships in Spain last year. “We’re looking forward to Brad continuing where he left off, with strong results in the last round of WSK. Keep an eye on Brad towards the pointy end for the 2022 season.”
