Newcastle & Victoria Shut Down

from karting.net.au

Good Afternoon,

And the chaos continues, unfortunately the NSW and Victorian Governments have today announced 7-day lockdowns for the Newcastle and the State of Victoria respectively.

As a result of the advice from the NSW Government, the Newcastle Kart Racing Club has been forced to close its circuit as of 5pm today for a seven-day period.

The Lockdown in Victoria as of 8pm tonight has a significant impact on all Victorian Clubs. No karting activities are permitted to take place, this includes Club Days, that were scheduled to resume this weekend following the previous Lockdown, and any Social Karting Activities.

As we have done for the past 18 months, Karting Australia will continue to monitor the situation closely alongside Karting Victoria and will be able to guide Clubs through the emerging of the lockdown and what effect it will have on events for the remainder of August.

With the potential for the lockdown in Victoria to be extended, it is foreseeable that there will be further alterations to the recently released calendar for Victoria and there will need to be a significant amount of flexibility over the coming months to provide as much opportunity as possible for the maximum number of events to proceed.

Should you have any questions please contact your State Administrator on 1300 30 5278 or Karting Australia Chief Operating Officer Lee Hanatschek on 07 5655 4341 or lee@karting.net.au.

Best Regards and Stay Safe
