Last Minute Track Change Affects Kiwis

LAST-MINUTE TRACK CHANGE FOR ROK CUP SUPERFINAL

Fall-out from the KZ World Championships meeting at the South Garda Karting complex at Lonato in northern Italy has thrown a spanner into the works for the two Kiwi karters – Arie Hutton from Palmerston North and Jacob Douglas from Christchurch – who have travelled there to represent New Zealand at the annual ROK Cup Superfinal meeting next week (Oct 14-17).

The drama has seen the cancellation of the traditional weekend-before ROK Cup Trophy meeting at the circuit this weekend (which the pair were going to compete at) and the moving of next weekend’s ROK Cup Superfinal meeting under a ‘force majeure’ decree from the event’s traditional home at the South Garda complex to the next closest suitable facility – the Franciacorta Karting Track at Bargnana.

Though both drivers will miss out on the opportunity to ‘dial themselves and their karts in’ this weekend the Franciacorta track will be open for testing from Monday.
