New Directors Appointed to KNSW Board

From 01 July 2020, the Board of Karting New South Wales will include a new Director of Administration and Director of Financial Services.

Director of Administration – Ben Aylen CAPM

The new Director of Administration will be Ben Aylen. Ben has been an IT professional for over 20 years and currently works as a Senior Project Manager, responsible for the delivery of multi-million dollar projects for the ATO.  He has also participated in karting since 1987 and has most recently performed the role as Promotions Director with Canberra Kart Racing Club. Ben has also recently completed the Foundations of Company Directorship Certificate through the AICD.

Ben steps into the role of Director of Administration with KNSW, which became vacant when Ms Alsters resigned from the role to step up as Chair on 02 March 2020. 

Director of Financial Services – Shane Glanville B. Business CPA JP

The new Director of Financial Services will be Shane Glanville. Shane has been an accountant for over 25 years and has held a number of Group Financial Controller and Finance Directors Roles within multi-national and Australian organisations. Shane has also been involved in karting at Wollongong Kart Raceway. Shane is a Certified Practising Account (CPA) and a member of the National Tax & Accountants Association (NTAA) in addition to being a Justice of the Peace. Shane has also completed a Bachelor of Business (with Credit) from the University of Technology in Sydney.

Shane steps into the role of Director of Financial Services with KNSW, which became vacant when Brian Appeldoorn resigned from the role at the end of his tenure. 

Chair of KNSW, Ms Ilona Alsters said “The appointment of these two roles are fundamental to the effective operation of the board and to the business of karting in New South Wales. The board has undertaken a thorough recruitment and interview process and we are confident that the skills, experience and attitude that both Ben and Shane will bring to the board will compliment the independence and balance of the current Board. We congratulate both gentlemen on their appointment.” 

All nine (9) positions of the Board of KNSW as set out in its Constitution are now filled as full racing for KNSW resumes from 01 July 2020.
