There will be no more JC Karts coming to Australia. James Courtney and Jon Target have confirmed the brand will transform from an importer to a race team and be renamed JC Sport.
JC Sport will continue to race with Parolin manufactured equipment that will be sourced from Parolin Australia.
“As the world becomes a smaller place businesses are constantly evolving and changing” the organisation stated on social media.
“Five years ago we bought the Parolin product to Australia in the form of a JC Kart” stated Targett.
“In that time we have helped to develop the Parolin manufactured mini kart into the best kart in the world and now with plenty of interest in all models of Parolin kart the time was right to join forces with Shane and his team and concentrate on the development of the drivers in our JC Sport team.”
“Our number one focus going forward is to ensure we support and assist our drivers to be the best version of themselves, whether they have aspirations to move up the motorsport ladder or not” Courtney added.
“Helping to develop them both on and off the track is something I am really looking forward to.
“Up until now lots of focus has gone in to importation and distribution of karts and accessories, and being able to refocus that energy into developing our race team and drivers is super exciting and a challenge I am really looking forward to.”
From an industry perspective, all the current JC Kart dealers will transition to using, selling and marketing the Parolin brand.
“Not a lot changes for me” stated William Yarwood of Project X.
“I still get to work with Jon and James and add Kris & Shane into the equation and that only bolsters the team of people behind Project X.
“The only other real change for us is colour and red is fast so I can’t wait to get started.”
JC Sport will kick off 2020 with a four-day test at Tailem Bend from January 20. The team will consist of 15 drivers and contest all Australian Kart Championship rounds, the annual Race of Stars plus other selected events.
