In the underage divisions, drivers will be competing in the KA12, KA Junior and the elite KF3 class using the Vortex Mini Rok, IAME KA100 Reedjet and Vortex KF3 engines respectively.
Senior competitors will have the selection of five classes – three Karting Australia specific (KA1, KA TAG and X30) and two based on the international CIK classes (KF2 and KZ2).
The Whyalla kart track will once again be able to hold twilight race meetings thanks to the re-installation of track lighting. "It's been a while since all the older towers were working (probably 2007)" the club announced. "The new tower looks great; can't wait to see some racing under lights. Congratulations and thanks to all." There is talk of a track re-surface in the future.

Omega Karts Australia has been appointed the exclusive authorised dealer of Ricciardo Kart in South Australia. In what will be Omega's 30th Anniversary year, this will be the first time the Kym Pearce led organisation has sold a brand of kart other than their own.
"I am proud to being given the privilege of being appointed the South Australian dealer for Ricciardo Karts" he said. "Daniel Ricciardo commenced his career as a Rookie in an Omega Kart, (so) it is a great opportunity to promote and support the European Ricciardo Kart with the same devotion and enthusiasm with which I have the Omega brand.”
Reigning Australian Junior Karting Champion Jayden Ojeda has confirmed he'll be racing Formula Ford in 2015. The 15-year old will join Melbourne based Borland Racing Developments to compete in the Victorian Formula Ford Championship.
“Making the step from Karting into Formula Ford is always going to be a challenge, with so many more aspects to consider, including a manual gearbox, however it is an essential step to my success in the future as a driver” Ojeda said.
”I am excited to have signed Jayden to our team" said BRD's Mike Borland, "...coming highly recommended by his karting engine builder Adam Macrow, who was of course the first Spectrum Formula Ford Champion nearly twenty years ago.”
