  • An engine builder has been exposed as a cheat in the UK, modifying cylinders and pistons in the tightly controlled Formula TKM class. Class promotoer Tal-Ko Racing has stated that Paul Scothern of MRM Performance Engineering has openly admitted to carrying out work clearly not permitted under the Formula TKM regulations. Tal-Ko are requesting the various authorites ban Mr Scothern from the sport. They are offering affected karters 40% off replacement parts to make their engines legal once again. Read more HERE.

  • The Wimmera Kart Racing Club has confirmed the Wimmera Grand Prix that was to be held at Horsham on November 23 has been cancelled. The executive committee decision comes more than a week prior to the event to give timely notice to those who had entered, enabling them to cancel bookings and make other plans for the weekend. "To all of our club members who were looking forward to racing, we are exploring another option for a final race meet for the year. We will keep you posted" - Shane Souter, President.

  • Images of the new homologation OK1 kart for 2015 have surfaced. It will be available through the Australian distributor, ipkarting.com.au




  • Patrizicorse has announced the official Ricciardo Kart dealers for Australia and New Zealand (Brisbane and Sydney dealers have yet to be announced). Only two outlets per state will be appointed and "every dealer we have has a shop front. This was the most important decision in choosing our dealers" Patrizicorse's Michael Patrizi said. They dealers are:

  • American karting company J3 Competition has launched of its own chassis line – COMPKART. The CIK/FIA homologated model, Covert 3.0 (34/CH/20) is produced with Ø 30mm tubing suited for KF/RotaxMAX/TaG/KZ categories and is available in two different versions, ‘Racing’ (aluminium components & different stub axle configuration) and ‘Competition’ (magnesium components and a C-type stub axle). Like the Ricciardo Kart, the Compkart Covert will be manufactured in Italy by BirelART. It will be available in a choice of two colours.

  • Remember the James Courtney replica Tony Kart that South Sustralian Glenn Davidson built (view it HERE to jog your memory)? Well, Glenn has advised that he has too many karts and needs to fund some other projects. As such, the kart is for sale and is now on eBay. "I figured that was the easiest way to sell it" he told KartSportNews. "I had multiple people wanting it and I had no idea what to charge as the money and time spent I lost track of a long time ago."   • A large contingent of members attended the Central Coast Speedway Kart Club's AGM recently. The Executive Committee for the next term is: President – Mick Bell, Vice President – Victor Maastricht, Secretary – Kay Green, Treasurer – Trish Maastricht. Mick Conner was awarded Life Membership for the vast number of years of club help and support, while Les Green was awarded an Honorary Membership. Membership fees will remain unchanged.

  • 2015 Ladies Trophy event update. Over the past 6 years this ladies-only meeting has raised over $150,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation:


  • After months of negotiation between the CIK-FIA and WSK Promotion, the governing body has finally released a provisional 2015 CIK-FIA Championship calendar. It is officially provisional until approved by the CIK Commission and the FIA WMSC. The schedule follows the weather around Europe, from south to north and back to the south again, with intervals of 3 to 4 weeks for the various categories.
