  • It's a load of Croc.... no, really, it is! Multiple sources in Europe have provided further detail of the new "Croc Promotions" brand of kart chassis that was listed in the CIK/FIA homologation last month. The Croc will be manufactured by Emme Racing SAS (they built the ART GP chassis, but ART has now merged with Birel) and will be backed by Finnish energy drinks company, Mad-Croc. The team will be managed by experienced Italian Armando Filini, formerly of Maranello and ART. Vroom report the kart is already being tested on track and the team will use TM engines. There is still no word on a driver lineup for 2015.

  • "Ignoring Yellow Flags, Karting’s Current Epidemic" is the title of an opinion piece by ekartingnews' Rob Howden. Howden reckon's karting is dangerously close to having a 'Bianchi incident' of its own due to drivers' apparant disregard of the yellow flag rules, and officials' apathy in policing the regulation. It's a good read - check it out HERE.

  • It looks like former Junior MAX karter Alex Rullo will fulfill his dream of becoming the youngest ever V8 Supercar driver in Australia. The 14-year old from Perth announced in September he was aiming to race a Ford Falcon V8 in the Wanneroo 300 on November 16. Having now acquired the required signatures to upgrade his CAMS licence, Alex has been confirmed as a starter in the race. He will share the driving duties with another former karter, 22-year-old Erebus Academy driver Jack Le Brocq from Victoria. “It’s been a long journey for Alex to get to this point,” said his father Peter, who will also compete in the race. “The experience of upgrading my CAMS licence was great,” Alex said. “I learnt more about driving and car setup from every meeting.”

  • SKUSA has confirmed the SuperNationals XVIII will be televised on the CBS Sports Network, a major primetime television network that reaches 53 million subscribers. The deal, which is pretty damn huge for karting, comes via a partnership with torque.tv, a new production venture from Roger Werner (Speedvision and SPEED Channel founder). “This is a significant step forward for SKUSA and karting as a whole,” offered SKUSA's Tom Kutscher. “The venture is not cheap to undertake but the juice is worth the squeeze. I really believe when I say karting is one of the most exciting sports on Earth, or I wouldn’t be doing this." Below is the Official Poster for the event in Vegas.
