The Launceston Kart Club will be well represented at the upcoming Tasmanian Kart championships with a host of locals in contention for a State Title.

At each end of the experience table will be veteran karter Johnathan Males, who will be competing in his 22nd championship, and Young Jake Delphin, who will be competing in his first.

Males will go into the Over 40 Pro class as one of the outright favourites whilst Delphin will be out to build on his first year of racing and is a chances to secure a place on the podium in the Cadets class.

In Rookies, William Reeve will be sweating on his doctors advice if he is able to race as he has just had his appendix removed. Tate Frost and Lachlan Dalton have both raced on the mainland during the year and will been keen to show the mainland visitors they will be hard to beat.

In Junior National Light another trio of LKC member have also travelled interstate throughout the year in Jackson Callow, Mitchell Kerrison and Kurtis Love all capable of grabbing a trophy come Sunday's final. Another competing in his first title will be Connor Griffin who will benefit from the experience.

Junior National Heavy's Justin Murphy will be keen to keep his good local form going and will be one of the front runners. Girl power will also be represented in this class with Caitlin Fitch and Kiana Toon out to show the boys who's boss.

Andrew Lee is the sole LKC member in Junior Clubman, the premier Junior class on offer.

A couple of senior drivers will be doing double duties at the state title with defending TAG Light champion Zane Wyatt going for back to back titles as well as attempting to win another Clubman Heavy title. Alastair Lee will also be competing in two classes and is hoping to go one better than last year's championship where he finished second in both Senior National Pro and Clubman Heavy.

Another two locals that have traveled extensively this year are Troy Stone and Steven Wrigley and both will be keen to win their first state title in Clubman Heavy. In one of the biggest classes at the title, Clubman Heavy also sees Dillon Van Galen and Joel Toon out to shake up the competition.

Clubman Light again will be represented by Nathan Zuj who will be out to add to his 2011 title. TAG  Light and Heavy will have a couple locals that have just moved up from juniors and have shown great pace and are more than capable of claiming some spoilers in Jairus Holmes and James Fitch.

Over 40 Pro will probably be the club's best chance of claiming all three spots on the podium with Ben Davey and Robert Green joining Males as title contenders. Over 40 Super Heavy will see the clubs best chance of claiming a championship with Scott Wrigley dominating this class for the last few years and will be keen to go back to back after winning in 2013, however if Wrigley falters a host of other members in Shane Toon, John Lee and Allan Sheahen will be right there to collect the silverwear.

In total 150 competitors from all over Australia will be out to claim one of the 12 blue plates on offer that confirms them as a State Champion.
