Statement from Karting Australia
It is with great sadness that Karting Australia acknowledges the tragic passing of North Shore Kart Club and Combined Districts Kart Club Member Carey Alexander.
Carey, 13, was admitted to Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney on Saturday morning after falling ill on Friday. He sadly passed away suddenly yesterday due to heart failure at 2pm (Sunday August 10).
Carey was a well-known competitor in the sport having competed for six years. He will be sorely missed by the New South Wales Karting community.
Karting Australia on behalf of the entire karting community offers its condolences to the Alexander family and friends.
Karting Australia will post funeral details for members when they become available.
